What happens when you mix the drums, violin and guitar? You get punchy, driving beats and a whole lot of high energy music.
Brisbane’s August River Band have harnessed this combination and made it their signature sound and their new release Crazy proves it.
The new track saw bandmates Eev Ferreira, Lil Burrows and Gerard Kerr team up with established producer Paulie B who also lent his skills as backing vocalist.
“His spirit was an absolute joy to work with. He is a music soul in its truest sense.”

Written out of Eev’s disillusionment with his own ingrained concepts of relationships, Crazy addresses some fundamental beliefs throughout society.
Eev explains, “The first is the belief that chemistry between people is a signal and has to acted upon decisively. Secondly, the religion-based belief that we have to ‘leave and cleave’. Further to this, so many times I have found myself in a scenario where I wish I could just enjoy the friendship of the other person but fully aware they needed it to dissolve into a next step be it sex, or a relationship. This robs us I believe of opportunities to learn from each other and learn from many.”
Crazy is the first release off the band’s upcoming debut album set for release later in the year.
Toeing the line between folk and alt-rock, August River Band’s new single Crazy is a fun take on living in and appreciating the present moment.
