Australian singer-songwriter Michael Dunstan’s new single Smoulder or Ignite is a celebration of change and the chance to flourish in new space.

Utilising classical acoustic folk elements, the single is a preview of his upcoming debut album In The Grand Scheme; set for release on Friday 28th February.

To celebrate the arrival of his album, Dunstan has announced a huge national tour kicking off at the end of the month. Having toured across Australia and New Zealand extensively in 2019, the show promises to add a dynamic layer to his performance where he will also be joined by a three-piece band.

The Perth based singer draws on a love for the open road and surf-folk stylings, with his songs reflective of exploration and an adoration for transition; both physically and mentally. Smoulder or Ignite epitomises acoustic-folk by colliding the worlds of mellow-storytelling and mindful lyrics; displaying an aptitude for pensiveness.

Michael Dunstan begins his national headline tour on February 27th in Perth; playing across March and April before rounding out in Canberra in mid-May.

Having been open with his own struggles, the singer is a strong advocate for mental health awareness and is aiming to raise $1million for mental health organisations including BeyondBlue and Headspace. As part of this he will be donating a portion of every ticket sold to Happy Monday in support of his long-time friend and touring buddy Daniel Hedley who will be undertaking a 6,500km ride from Brisbane to Perth on a Penny Farthing!
